BPA Family Legacy
The Robert B. Griffin Chapter presents BPA Founding member Robert B. Griffin's family legacy in aviation.

Robert B. Griffin
Generations of aviators: From Rocky Hill, New Jersey to the skies, our family’s aviation legacy spans four generations. It all started with my father, who began his journey behind an airport, eventually joining the United States Air Force as part of the historic Tuskegee Airmen. After retiring, he continued to share his love of flying as a flight instructor, working with airlines like World, Altair, and Eastern Airlines. I followed in his footsteps, attending the first summer flight school in Tuskegee, Alabama, and pursuing flight training. My son, Samuel, served in the Army for twenty years and is now part of the PSA cadet program, honing his skills at Liberty Aviation. We’re proud to say that our aviation legacy continues with my grandson, Kyjhan, who’s currently enrolled in Delaware State’s aviation program. On October 20, 2023, Kyjhan accomplished his first solo flight. To top it off, our family owns two Piper aircraft, a PA24-250, and a PA28-235, ensuring that our passion for aviation soars through the generations.
